Problem Statement

How do we leverage data, technology, and artificial intelligence to improve the safety and livability of our cities?

A panel of judges will select the top 10 entries. These selected innovations will participate in a Pitch Contest at the Safety of our Cities Conference on September 20th, 2023 in Edmonton Alberta. The winning innovation will win up to $10,000 CAD. In addition, the entries selected will get attention from various cities and municipalities attending the conference, which can possibly help them sell their solution into those markets across North America.

This challenge is asking you to submit details about your solution, how it helps make a city safer and more livable, how ready is your solution (i.e. can it be deployed now), costs, etc. The more details you provide, the better your chance of being selected as one of the 10 solutions that will pitch in front of a global audience, including some coveted judges. Your opportunity for brand awareness and exposure is truly extraordinary if you get selected as one of the top 10.

The top pitch will be awarded a $10,000 cash prize. However, this is nothing compared to the exposure you will get and the potential to sell your solution to the numerous cities/municipalities that will be present at the conference. So the potential is truly incredible!!!

Requirements

  1. Your solution MUST be available to be purchased today (i.e. commercially available) - at this stage, we're not looking for ideas or blueprints
  2. You could be a for-profit, or non profit
  3. A full detailed proposal must be included in the submission that explains what your product does, how it makes a city safer and then details on how long it takes to be deployed, and of course the one time and on going costs. Any awards, references, etc. should be included.

Guidelines

Who can enter?

Any company, organization, or non-profit (around the world) that has an innovative solution which has been built/ready that will make our cities safer.

All top 10 entries that are selected from this process must be able to be in Edmonton on September 20, 2023 to present their innovation at the conference.  Please only respond if you can meet this requirement.
