Eugenia Wulff Fuentes
Research Assistant at Medical College of Wisconsin
Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States
bio
Born and raised in Venezuela, I received my bachelor’s degree in Biology and Biochemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in December 2017. During my undergraduate experience I participated in research projects involving the development of catalysts to produce hydrogen gas for use as an alternative energy source. This exposure to science led me to apply and become a graduate student in the Interdisciplinary Doctoral Program in Biomedical Sciences at the Medical College of Wisconsin in August 2018. For the past 4 years, I have been working in the Biochemistry Department under the supervision of Dr. Stephanie Olivier-Van Stichelen. In my research project I am studying the importance of the nutrient-responsive protein modification O-GlcNAcylation in pre- and post-natal development and hormone secretion. Besides science, I am passionate about reading, puzzles, art, and nature.
