Jay M. Wong is an innovator with a mission to enable technology to be more widespread and accessible to society. While building robots for 15+ years, Wong co-founded Southie Autonomy in 2017 to deliver reconfigurable AI for industrial robot arms to the packaging industry. And in 2023, he founded Luminous to accelerate our planet’s mission towards sustainable clean energy with robot fleets for the solar construction industry.
Previously, Wong worked as a robotics scientist at Draper and held visiting scientist roles at MIT and Harvard University, where he started the Cloud Robotics initiative and led engineering on their award-winning robot. Prior, he was at NASA and UMass Amherst, his alma mater, where he was named Bay State Fellow and two-time Outstanding Achievement awardee. Since 2007, he's been involved with FIRST Robotics.
